Public Events Overview

Public Events is where you build the calendar of events your community can see — open houses, workshops, info sessions, and more. You create and review events in the portal, and once they're published they appear on your organization's public website.

The two views

Open Public Events from the menu and you'll find two tabs:

  • New Events — events that are still drafts, waiting to be reviewed and published.
  • Site Events — events that are already published (live to the public) or cancelled.

The kinds of events

  • A one-time event happens once, with a start and end.
  • A recurring series repeats on a schedule (every week, every month, and so on). The series creates one occurrence for each date it runs — and the list marks it with a Series tag. See Recurring events.

How an event reaches the public

Every event starts as a draft, visible only to your team. When it's ready, you approve it to publish — and only then does it appear on your public website. You can cancel a published event to take it down. See Publishing.
